A Month at INPRO: A Volunteer’s Perspective

Why I Joined INPRO
Volunteering at INPRO wasn’t a decision I mulled over for long—it was an instant yes. Hello everyone, my name is Eduard, I am from Armenia and I am a long-term volunteer at INPRO.
Before this, I had participated in their Global Village event, and the experience left a lasting impression. The international group of volunteers, the sense of purpose, and the opportunity to make friends worldwide made it impossible to resist. When I was asked if I was interested in joining as a long-term volunteer, the answer was obvious.
The Journey So Far
It’s been a month since I officially started my long-term volunteering journey with INPRO (if we exclude the short-term stints). From day one, I’ve been surrounded by an ambitious project that aims to create real impact—not just in Rzeszów but beyond. Every day here feels memorable, filled with laughter, collaboration, and meaningful work.
What I’ve Gained
This experience has taught me more than I could have imagined. Social skills and confidence are at the top of the list. Meeting people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, working together on common goals, and adapting to new situations have helped me grow in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
But like any journey, it hasn’t been without challenges. The language barrier, for instance, was something I had to overcome. Yet, all of us—volunteers and locals alike—are improving our English together. It’s becoming easier to communicate, and this shared learning experience is bringing us even closer.

The Impact We’re Making
The work we do at INPRO is appreciated, and it shows. From schoolchildren looking up to us to the local community recognising our efforts, it’s rewarding to see how much of a difference we’re making. The projects here truly build bridges between cultures, and I’ve learned something invaluable: no matter our cultural differences, at the core, we are all human—more alike than different.
Looking Forward
This experience is shaping me in ways that are still unfolding. It’s too early to pinpoint how it will impact my future, but one thing is clear: dedicating this time to myself and to something meaningful is life-changing.
Why You Should Join INPRO
If you’re considering volunteering, my advice is simple: do it. You’ll have an entire year to dedicate to yourself, and the growth, memories, and results you’ll achieve will be beyond what you can imagine.
