Beyond the Menu: Gastronomy VET Students Discover Rzeszów

A few weeks ago, INPRO had the pleasure of welcoming a group of 16 enthusiastic students to Rzeszów. Still learning the ins and outs of hospitality and tourism, they came not just to observe, but to dive in — gaining practical experience, exploring new places, and building memories that will stick with them long after their return home.

Getting Their Hands Dirty at Capella Restaurant

Their main mission? Vocational practice. The students rolled up their sleeves and got to work at Capella, one of Rzeszów’s local restaurants. From kitchen prep and plating to helping serve customers and keeping things tidy, they got a real taste of what it means to work in hospitality. Side by side with experienced chefs and waiters, they weren’t just watching — they were contributing.

And they did it all with impressive energy. Whether polishing cutlery or clearing tables, they approached each task with a can-do attitude that didn’t go unnoticed.

From Work to Play

Of course, life isn’t all about work. Between shifts, we invited the group to INPRO for some well-earned downtime. We played games, laughed a lot, and got to know one another outside the context of aprons and menus. These moments — relaxed, unscripted — were just as valuable for team bonding as any day on the job.

Stepping Into History

During their stay, the group also took time to explore Poland’s deeper layers. A visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum offered a powerful and sobering look into the country’s history — a reminder of the importance of remembrance. The Underground Museum in Rzeszów, with its maze of hidden tunnels and stories from the city’s past, added another layer of discovery to their experience.

More Than a Trip

When you mix learning, working, exploring, and connecting — you end up with something more than just a school trip. The students left Rzeszów with practical experience, stronger friendships, and new perspectives — both personal and professional.

To the group: thank you for your energy, openness, and teamwork. We hope your next steps in the world of tourism are just as meaningful and full of adventure. And who knows — maybe we’ll meet again.
