What is Monday Stories?

Every Monday at INPRO, we embark on a journey around the world through an event called Monday Stories. The concept is simple yet profound: each week, a guest or one of our volunteers presents the country they are from or a country they are closely associated with. It’s a weekly dose of cultural immersion that brings people closer to understanding the world’s diversity.

My Role

For now, my involvement is behind the scenes. I arrive early to assist my organising friends, ensuring they have all the help they need to prepare for the event. It’s a small contribution, but it feels good to be part of something bigger.

What Makes It Meaningful

Week by week, Monday Stories enriches participants with knowledge about different countries, cultures, and people. While learning about one country might seem small, the cumulative effect over time is remarkable. You begin to realise how much more you know about the world around you, and it’s incredibly rewarding.

Challenges and Solutions

Organizing Monday Stories isn’t without its challenges. Deciding on the country, helping guests and volunteers prepare, and coordinating logistics can be tricky. However, through teamwork and clear communication, these challenges become manageable, and the results are always worth the effort.

The Impact

Both the local community and we, the volunteers, are learning something new each week. The event has become a staple for many, a highlight of their Monday routine. Its ability to consistently attract and engage participants is a testament to its positive impact.

What I’ve Learned

For me, Monday Stories has been a learning ground for public speaking. Watching presenters share their countries with such professionalism is inspiring. It’s also a collaborative learning experience—if we notice something that could be improved, we discuss it with the team, and together we find solutions.
