Level APP: How Youth Workers Are Tackling the Digital Age
Let’s face it—keeping young people engaged in today’s world of social media, smartphones, and constant digital buzz is no easy feat. That’s exactly why “Level App,” an Erasmus+ training program, was created. Running from January 28th to February 5th, 2022, in Rzeszów, this project brought together 20 youth workers from Armenia, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Greece, and Moldova, all with one goal in mind: learning how to step up their tech game and better connect with young people.
Gone are the days when traditional methods were enough to hold the attention of the younger generation. These youth workers recognized that if they want to make an impact, they need to meet young people where they are—online, in apps, and through interactive platforms. “Level App” offered them the chance to gain the digital know-how to do just that.
But this project wasn’t just about sitting in a room and learning theory. It was about swapping stories, sharing struggles, and coming up with fresh ideas to modernize youth programs. These participants, already experienced in working with youth, knew that the right tools can make all the difference. So, they dove into learning about interactive technologies that they could immediately bring back to their communities.
For a week, they experimented with new ways to make educational activities more engaging, more relevant, and—most importantly—more fun for young people. By the end of the training, they weren’t just more tech-savvy; they were ready to transform how they approached youth work altogether.
What “Level App” really proved is that youth work in the digital age doesn’t have to be intimidating. In fact, with the right mindset and tools, it can be incredibly rewarding.
