Two Countries, One School, and a Lot of Cake

The school visit to the Technical and Artistic School Complex in Lesko was a valuable educational and cultural experience that allowed us to engage with students, teachers, and the local community in a meaningful and enriching way. Throughout the visit, we had the opportunity to present our countries, exchange ideas, and discover more about the school environment and culture in Poland.

On the first day, we arrived in Lesko and were warmly welcomed by one of the students from the host school. From the very beginning, we appreciated the hospitality and kindness shown to us by both students and staff.

During our first impressions of the school, we were particularly struck by the beauty of the surrounding nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the area. The environment immediately created a positive and welcoming feeling, helping us begin this experience with enthusiasm and curiosity.

The second day began with a guided tour of the school led by students, who introduced us to the different classrooms and facilities. This gave us the opportunity to better understand the school environment and observe how students experience their daily academic life.

After the tour, we delivered presentations to five different classes about our countries, Italy and France, as well as about Eurodesk and the opportunities it offers to young people across Europe. The students showed great interest and participation, making the exchange both engaging and rewarding.

Following the presentations, we joined the teachers for a coffee break and had the opportunity to taste a cake prepared by the students. During this moment, we exchanged views on cultural differences within the school systems, which led to a very interesting and insightful discussion.

At lunchtime, we enjoyed a traditional Polish meal at school, which gave us further insight into the local culture and traditions.

In the afternoon, students guided us through the city and introduced us to the natural beauty of Lesko. During the visit, they also shared their experiences as students and spoke about daily school life, offering us a deeper understanding of their educational environment and community.

On the final day of our visit, we delivered presentations to four additional classes. The sessions were highly interactive, with students actively participating and asking thoughtful questions about our countries and the work of Eurodesk.

Before leaving, we shared another traditional lunch together and exchanged our final greetings with the students and teachers who had welcomed us throughout the visit.

This school visit represented an important opportunity for intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and mutual learning. It allowed us to strengthen international connections, promote cultural exchange, and reflect on the importance of European educational experiences.
