Laptops on the tables, wires, diagrams and the first ideas already taking shape. That was the atmosphere in Urban Lab Rzeszów and the Podkarpackie Innovation Centre when a group of students from SZSZC Tiszaújvárosi Brassai Sámuel Technikum és Szakképző Iskola in Hungary arrived in Rzeszów for a two-week Erasmus+ VET programme.
The students came with a clear goal: to deepen their knowledge of electronics and information technology while experiencing how these skills work beyond the classroom.
Part of the group spent their mornings in Urban Lab Rzeszów, working on IT-related tasks and exploring practical aspects of digital technologies. Another group focused on electronics in cooperation with the Podkarpackie Innovation Centre, where they had the opportunity to observe and discuss real technical solutions.
Programmes like this are built around practice, but they are also about people, cultures and new experiences. After the morning sessions, the students joined workshops organised by INPRO’s long-term volunteers. These activities focused on communication, teamwork and English language practice. There were quizzes, city games and discussions about sustainability and the goals of the European Union.
For many participants, this was their first longer stay abroad. Beyond technical learning, the programme became an opportunity to experience life in an international environment – meeting new people, discovering a different culture and stepping outside their comfort zone.
Projects like this often become the first step into the world of international education. They allow students to see that the skills they develop at school can be applied in real-life contexts and that collaboration across borders is both possible and inspiring.
Two weeks passed quickly, but they left behind valuable experience, new friendships and many memories of Rzeszów.
The project was funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.
