Borderless Dialogue

The Borderless Dialogue project stemmed from INPRO’s local initiative known as Open Cafe, which was part of the Open Rzeszow project funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe back in 2016. This initiative was born out of a growing need to address the increasing influx of immigrants coming to Rzeszow, Poland, for study and work opportunities.

Open Cafe serves as an inviting and informal space where individuals from all walks of life can gather, break down stereotypes, and engage in meaningful conversations about various topics. Here, participants learn the art of active listening, the importance of respect, and how to articulate their thoughts clearly.

The primary aim of the Borderless Dialogue project is to establish new cultural spaces in three cities across Portugal, Spain, and Hungary, creating environments where everyone meets on equal terms and interaction rules are more flexible. This approach not only fosters mutual understanding among participants but also facilitates broader community interactions, ultimately promoting social cohesion and harmonious living in diversity.

But this project goes beyond just engaging newcomers, refugees, and migrants. It aims to bridge the gap between these groups and the broader European society. In light of the growing influence of far-right ideologies across many European nations, the importance of building open and inclusive cultural spaces cannot be overstated. These spaces provide vital opportunities for dialogue between migrants, refugees, and local communities.

The Borderless Dialogue project is supported by the Erasmus Plus program under the Strategic Partnerships Key Action, ensuring that it continues to foster understanding and connection across borders.
