When military discipline meets non-formal education

2025-10-31

At the end of September, we had the pleasure of welcoming to Rzeszów a group of students from Északi ASzC Serényi Béla Mezőgazdasági Technikum és Szakképző Iskola in Putnok, Hungary. The students came as part of an Erasmus+ VET project and spent their time here taking part in a programme designed around their field of study.

Since the participants are training for careers in civil service, we worked together with the “Strzelec” Józef Piłsudski Riflemen’s Association to prepare a programme that combined elements of structured training with non-formal learning.

During their stay, the students took part in a range of practical activities, including firearms training, first aid, communication exercises and elements of SERE training (survival, evasion, resistance and escape). These sessions required focus, cooperation and discipline, while also encouraging participants to learn through experience and teamwork.

Alongside the training activities, the group also had time to discover the region. The programme included visits to the Łańcut Castle Museum and a trip to Kraków, offering an opportunity to explore the cultural and historical heritage of southern Poland.

We would like to thank the “Strzelec” Józef Piłsudski Riflemen’s Association for their continued cooperation and support in implementing this programme.

The stay of the participants was funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
