Connect, Collaborate, Inspire: A Seminar on Youth Networking

2023-07-27

At the end of July 2023, eighteen youth workers from four different countries gathered in Rzeszów, creating a vibrant mosaic of cultures and experiences. Partnerships flourished through collaboration with organizations from Hungary, Georgia, Poland, and Ukraine, and the aim of the seminar was to promote cooperation and innovation in the youth sector within the framework of the Erasmus+ project.

Participants, who arrived on July 16th, took part in a five-day program that began on Monday morning and concluded on Friday afternoon. Throughout the program, they engaged in workshops exploring the role of non-governmental organizations, created imaginary NGOs, participated in team-building activities, and held dynamic discussions on how to equip future leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to positively shape their communities.

Working together, we explored the internal mechanisms of how NGOs operate, discovering their profound impact on everyday life, especially among young people in Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, and Georgia. While analyzing different youth engagement initiatives, participants also took on the challenge of designing their own NGOs during group exercises. Was it difficult? Yes—but it stimulated creativity and fruitful collaboration while strengthening our networking skills.

After a cultural visit to the castle in Łańcut on Thursday, the group gathered again in the INPRO training room, where each participant generously shared their unique insights and experiences in youth work. Some participants, still studying at university, spoke about their inspiring perspectives and future aspirations.

“It was an incredible experience to connect with like-minded people from around the world. The energy and passion in this space were truly tangible,” said Vanessza, a participant from Hungary.

Daniella, a youth educator from Ukraine, added: “The seminar was the perfect space for collaboration. I returned home with new ideas and inspiration that will enrich my work in Uzhhorod.”

Mariam from Georgia shared her reflections as well: “I learned not only during the workshops but also from the diverse experiences of the other participants. The connections we made here will certainly last beyond the seminar.”

This seminar was not just a meeting—it was a project for change, a place where ideas met and friendships flourished.
