“Trainers against discrimination”

 

In 2015, Inpro partnered with Creative Development Center (CDC) for a project called “Trainers Against Discrimination.” The project was implemented in 4 phases.

The first phase took place in Berlin for 4 days. Then on September 9-16, all participants met in Rustavi, Georgia to participate in the training course.

The training course aimed at developing participant’s skills and competencies, as well as creating a simulation game on the issue of discrimination, with particular attention on minorities. The aim of the game was to increase the awareness on the integration of national minorities, current problems among young people and to create a platform to discuss discrimination and conflict issues.

After the training course, the simulation game was then performed at each of the participant’s communities. Finally, participants met once more in November in Split, Croatia to share their experiences with the game, good and bad practices, and challenges they faced as facilitators. They also established networks for future cooperation. In a nutshell, the project gave participants a unique opportunity to learn how to use simulation games as a powerful tool in dealing with discrimination, as well as provide young people with a platform where they can make their own decisions and come up with solutions to the problem.
