The Street Art Project

The Street Art Project is a youth exchange, which took place in the last week of October 2019 in Krosno. The project involved 25 people with Polish, France (Guadeloupe), Slovakia and Italy. In June 2019 it was preceded by a meeting of organizational leaders, which have been discussed all the details of the planned project.

The participants’ task was to create Street Art and organize a vernissage. Participants designed and painted murals under the leadership of youth leaders – street artists.

Murals were made in Krosno on the pillars of the bridge at Okrzei Street. Participants were divided into three groups. Each of them had to paint graffiti on the three walls of the bridge’s pillars with the help of paints, rollers, brushes and spray.

Three of the murals created take important topics for young people. The project participants, despite the differences resulting from the cultures in which they grew up, had a very similar view on these social problems.

The first work presents the negative impact of human activities on the environment. On the left side of the mural, participants used grays that go into intense colors on the other side.

The second mural depicts the silhouette of a person who is blinded by various addictions such as alcohol, money or drugs. In the background there are bands of different colors. On one side of the character we have an eloquent inscription: “Where’s the piece?”, and on the other flying balloons that take a piece of heart with them.

Recent work has been devoted to human mental health today.
