EVS in INPRO

European Voluntary Service in INPRO

2017: International Project’s Association INPRO is currently realizing its second EVS project “Youth embracing change”

The project “Youth embracing change” takes place in Rzeszów, Poland. The goal of the project is to develop interpersonal and intercultural competences among young people as well as among organizers of activities – volunteers themselves. Most of activities within the project takes place in Rzeszów Culture Incubator.

The volunteers are currently organizing weekly events which aim to educate young people about topics such as human rights, grassroots movements and controversial issues. The events also aim to create an international environment and a safe space to exchange ideas, opinions as well as making new friends.

Our main event is Open Cafè which takes place every Wednesday and lasts about two hours. Participants are involved in activities, games and discussions in English.

During the week our EVS volunteers also organize weekly public screenings of films and documentaries for educational purposes and completely free of charge.

Every Tuesday some of our volunteers go to the town of Lubaczów to host a language club with the youth council of the town hall. The project will last until July 2018.

Since July 2017, we have been hosting four EVS volunteers.

Libero Barbato comes from Sicily, in the south of Italy. He is 25 years old and has lived in Ireland for a year for a High School exchange and in Edinburgh, Scotland, for five years during his university studies in Philosophy and Politics. She likes spending time with her friends and enjoys travelling, meeting new people and learning more about their culture. She decided to do her EVS in Poland due to her interest in its history, culture, language and lifestyle.

2016: International Projects’ Association INPRO has ran its first EVS project “Education for youth Participation”.

The main objective of the project was to implement educational initiatives for youth who need to improve their skills in order to become valuable members of the community they are living in. Volunteers participated in various events and activities, but they also had time and space to realize their own ideas and initiatives together with local youngsters. This interaction offered a good occasion for cultural diversity activities with a significant role in anti-discrimination education and more cultural understanding and tolerance. The volunteers had a special role in attracting and involving youth in different activities and events held at the Rzeszów Cultural Incubator, where INPRO has its office and working spaces, while also stimulating their wish to become volunteers and to experience other cultures, habits and life.

Welcome Elsa & LilySince June 2016, we have hosted two EVS volunteers.

Aurélie Saint-prix is from the French island of Guadeloupe. She is 26 and previously worked for a recruitment company in Paris. INPRO’s projects attracted her from the very beginning, as she is very interested in meeting different people and learning about different cultures. After her EVS experience in INPRO, she went back to Guadeloupe and is now running her own NGO “Organization for Empowerment and Non-Formal Education”

Elsa Daniels grew up in Honduras. She is also 26, and had been living and studying in Taiwan for the past 8 years. She is particularly interested in INPRO’s mission for community development and non-formal education. After her EVS experience in INPRO, she decided to stay and keep working for INPRO, helping to expand its international network and collaborating with the  new EVS volunteers for local projects.
