European Voluntary Service in INPRO

2018: International Project’s Association INPRO is currently realizing its third EVS project “Youth and the City”

The project “Youth and The City” takes place in Rzeszów, Poland. The goal of the project is to develop interpersonal and intercultural competences among young people as well as among organizers of activities – volunteers themselves.

The volunteers are currently organizing their own personal projects, which aims to educate young people about topics such as human rights, grassroots movements and controversial issues. Later this year, the volunteers will visit schools and promote the Erasmus+ program, tell stories about their countries or deliver workshops about culture, human rights, youth opportunities and volunteering.

Since August 2018, we have been hosting four EVS volunteers, and they will stay until February, 2019:

Ismael Garcia is 24 years old and comes from Avilés, Spain.
He studied primary school teaching. He loves social activities, watching movies
and meeting people from different countries. He decided to go on EVS to be able to realize some educational and intercultural projects.

Sofie Nielsen is 18 years old and comes from Ølstykke in Denmark, and she just finished high school. She likes to see ideas turn into reality, and enjoys being part of this process. She also likes to meet new people and travel. Sofie applied to go on EVS because she wants to learn more about INPRO and its work, and also for the chance to live abroad.

Bernát Szloboda is 21 years old and comes from Pécs in Hungary, where he studies communication and media technology. He sees the opportunities in everything,
likes the randomity and creating videos with his friend. Bernát applied to the EVS for
the foreign experience and for the challenge to do well on projects at INPRO.

Denise is 17 years old and comes from Brühl in Germany and she has just finished high school. She likes spreading new ideas to children or the youth and work with them. She also likes exploring the world and meeting new cultures. Denise applied to go on EVS because she wants to be part of INPRO and learn more about it and it permits to have new experiences abroad.


2018: International Project’s Association INPRO is hosting Turkish volunteers from now on as a part of ”Youth and Powerful”

The project ”Youth and Powerful 2” takes place in Rzeszów, Poland. The volunteers from Turkey is going to be a part of the project for two months. The goal of the project is to develop interpersonal and intercultural connection among young people as well as among organizers of activities – volunteers themselves. From now on, every two months INPRO is going to host two volunteers from Turkey.

The volunteers are currently responsible for the Facebook pages about the voluntary projects in Europe and they share the valid ones to inform the interested people. They also help people from Rzeszów to be aware of the cultural agenda of the city and they share the details of ongoing events. Moreover, one of their main goal is to produce video contents to make an interaction between Turkish and Polish people such as presenting the cuisine, correcting the wrong informations by using a humorous and entertaining style in their videos. They aim to be both entertaining and enlightening. They also write blog articles about the benefits of voluntary service, their experience abroad and comparisons between their country and the hosting country. Moreover, one of their duties is to organize school trips, aiming to build a bridge between the nations at a young age. Lastly, they will inform people who don’t have a Facebook account about what is going on in INPRO and which ongoing and future events they can attend.

Aysuhan Kubilay is 19 years old, and she comes from Ankara, the capital city of Turkey.
She is studying Aerospace Engineering at METU (Middle East Technical University).
She is interested in mechanics of aircrafts. She likes travelling. She also likes meeting new people and learning about new cultures. As a result, she choose to do EVS. She believes that she will acquire new skills and knowledge at the end of the project.

Irem Kulaber is 25 years old and comes from Istanbul, Turkey. She studied English Language and Literature for her B.A and made a master in Media and Communication Systems. She has a thesis on digital journalism. For more than 5 years she has been producing content for various media including digital and inprint newspapers and journals. Also she is a part of a volunteer project called Curious Steps in Istanbul and they are organizing memory walks around the city. She likes being a part of voluntary services and she believes that doing this abroad
broadens mind and helps overcoming the prejudices. Thus, she is a part of EVS.


2017: International Project’s Association INPRO is currently realizing its second EVS project “Youth embracing change”

The project “Youth embracing change” takes place in Rzeszów, Poland. The goal of the project is to develop interpersonal and intercultural competences among young people as well as among organizers of activities – volunteers themselves. Most of activities within the project takes place in Rzeszów Culture Incubator.

The volunteers are currently organizing weekly events which aim to educate young people about topics such as human rights, grassroots movements and controversial issues. The events also aim to create an international environment and a safe space to exchange ideas, opinions as well as making new friends.

Our main event is Open Cafè which takes place every Wednesday and lasts about two hours. Participants are involved in activities, games and discussions in English.

During the week our EVS volunteers also organize weekly public screenings of films and documentaries for educational purposes and completely free of charge.

Every Tuesday some of our volunteers go to the town of Lubaczów to host a language club with the youth council of the town hall. The project will last until July 2018.

Since July 2017, we have been hosting four EVS volunteers.

Libero Barbato comes from Sicily, in the south of Italy. He is 25 years old and has lived in Ireland for a year for a High School exchange and in Edinburgh, Scotland, for five years during his university studies in Philosophy and Politics. He decided to get involved with INPRO because of his desires to work in a cultural organization and an international environment while at the same time learning more about Polish culture.

João Amiguinho is 24 years old and comes from Lisbon. He studied Film and Design, in hopes to become a screenwriter. He loves the beach, reading, watching movies, drawing and writing. He decided to work with INPRO to get to know people and to travel around Poland in seach of new stories.

Anastasiia Komisarchuk, 23 years old, comes from Kyiv, Ukraine. She studied International Relations in university. She loves sports and an active lifestyle. Nastia trained in martial arts for four years. For her EVS is an opportunity to acquire new skills and gain experience, to get to know new culture and meet new people.

Kristine Sargsyants, 25 years old, comes from Yerevan, Armenia. She is a very active, creative and positive person. She likes spending time with her friends and enjoys travelling, meeting new people and learning more about their culture. She decided to do her EVS in Poland due to her interest in its history, culture, language and lifestyle.

Oli is 25 and comes from Istanbul. After 6 years of working in different places, he decided to invest in his personal development by taking up the EVS challange. Here in Rzeszów Oli wants to meet new people, realize a few educational projects and gain a valuable experience. His participation is possible thanks to the Erasmus Plus.

 


2016: International Projects’ Association INPRO has ran its first EVS project “Education for youth Participation”.

The main objective of the project was to implement educational initiatives for youth who need to improve their skills in order to become valuable members of the community they are living in. Volunteers participated in various events and activities, but they also had time and space to realize their own ideas and initiatives together with local youngsters. This interaction offered a good occasion for cultural diversity activities with a significant role in anti-discrimination education and more cultural understanding and tolerance. The volunteers had a special role in attracting and involving youth in different activities and events held at the Rzeszów Cultural Incubator, where INPRO has its office and working spaces, while also stimulating their wish to become volunteers and to experience other cultures, habits and life.

Welcome Elsa & LilySince June 2016, we have hosted two EVS volunteers.

Aurélie Saint-prix is from the French island of Guadeloupe. She is 26 and previously worked for a recruitment company in Paris. INPRO’s projects attracted her from the very beginning, as she is very interested in meeting different people and learning about different cultures. After her EVS experience in INPRO, she went back to Guadeloupe and is now running her own NGO “Organization for Empowerment and Non-Formal Education”

Elsa Daniels grew up in Honduras. She is also 26, and had been living and studying in Taiwan for the past 8 years. She is particularly interested in INPRO’s mission for community development and non-formal education. After her EVS experience in INPRO, she decided to stay and keep working for INPRO, helping to expand its international network and collaborating with the  new EVS volunteers for local projects.
